ROSE HILLS, Los Angeles County — Rose Hills Memorial Chapel is among the property’s best-known architectural landmarks. The memorial park says the chapel was built in 1964 in memory of John D. Gregg, the son of Rose Hills founder Augustus Gregg.
Its modern design includes three 90-foot spires, prominent stained glass and a chapel that accommodates approximately 190 seated visitors. The memorial park also describes a smaller private family room for roughly 20 people and surrounding remembrance gardens.
Finding the chapel
The cemetery instructs visitors entering through Gate 1 to follow the blue-painted curb toward Memorial Chapel. People attending a service should consult the invitation or funeral arrangements for precise arrival and parking instructions.
The property is privately operated, and chapel access may be restricted during services. This report describes a historical site; it does not imply that tours or public events occur there every day.
